Spanish Vocabulary Flashcards

Introduce everyday Spanish through familiar scenes, English meanings, and short usage examples.

1 / 5

A small set for everyday Spanish

Learn the noun with its article, notice the example, and then use the word in another short sentence.

Buenos días — good morning

Use buenos días as a morning greeting. In the sample, the greeting becomes part of a familiar encounter with a teacher.

El libro — the book

Libro is a masculine noun, so the singular definite article is el. Its plural is los libros.

La manzana — the apple

Manzana is a feminine noun. La manzana refers to one apple; las manzanas refers to apples.

La hermana — the sister

Hermana names a sister. Practice it within a family sentence, such as “Mi hermana se llama Sofía.”

Beber — to drink

Beber is an infinitive ending in -er. Connect the word to a familiar action, then practice it in a short sentence.

Keep the phrase together

Learn useful chunks as well as single words. “Buenos días” and “el libro” carry information you would lose by studying just días or libro alone.

Turn recognition into a small conversation

Use a short, focused practice session to connect the answers to what you are learning.

  • Start from the scene

Look at the picture and recall the Spanish word or expression. Say it before turning the card.

  • Use the example as a pattern

Change one detail in the sentence: the person, object, or action. This gives the word a new context while keeping the task manageable.

  • Create a themed set

Ask for travel, food, school, or family vocabulary. Specify beginner level and whether you want Spanish prompts with English explanations.

Spanish picture cards connect la manzana, el libro, and beber to everyday objects and actions.

Bring everyday Spanish onto paper

Turn a familiar picture into a Spanish phrase

Ines Alder

Beginner Spanish learner

“I liked practicing el libro and la manzana with the article included. The pictures gave me an immediate connection to the words. I used the sample as a starting point for naming things around my desk.”

Daniela Wren

Spanish tutor

“The everyday examples made it easy to begin a short conversation. I asked learners to use the word after revealing the card, rather than stopping at recognition. The printed set worked well for pairs.”

Arthur Bellamy

Adult learner

“I wanted a small, approachable set for the beginning of my study session. The bilingual answers helped me reconnect the phrase with its meaning. Then I created a new set around food and travel.”

Luz Harper

Language teacher

“We used the beber example to introduce an action in context. Students described the picture and made another sentence using the same idea. I could adapt my generated PowerPoint set to the vocabulary in our course.”

Maisie Brook

Home educator

“The illustrations helped us bring Spanish into an ordinary morning activity. We named the book and apple before checking the answers. Printing the cards let us use them away from the computer.”

Elias Finch

Conversation club volunteer

“I wanted simple prompts that gave beginners something to say. The sample showed how a scene could support the word. I made a themed set for our next meeting and kept the language level focused.”
